Tulips, Daffodils, and a Lot More at Volčji Potok Arboretum

It has been truly inspiring to see all the photos from the many events held last weekend to send the “Hands Off” message to the world. We heard it loud and clear all the way over here. No protests anywhere near us, but there were a few in other parts of Europe.

All is fine here in Slovenia. Krista has a few projects in the pipeline supporting older adults, APS, and elder justice in the U.S., while Rory just finished writing a conference paper all about the heat pump incentive program he helped start when he was at the CPUC.

Yesterday we greeted Spring by making the short trip to the Volčji Potok Arboretum, just outside of Ljubljana. The Arboretum is a big sprawl of paths, gardens, trees, some well-placed cafes, a few wood sculptures, and even a few dinosaurs (!) We had been there a couple of times at night for the Christmas light display, but never during the day. We had heard the spring blossoms here were something to be seen, and we weren’t disappointed. The arboretum boasts that it has a million blooms and they were not lying! From here, we’ll let the photos speak for themselves….

This sculpture has a universal quality similar to ones we have seen in Hungary, Hawaii, and Mexico.
The beautiful warm day meant Krista could wear her bloom tights.
